If the Apple Pie Infused Bourbon I made last week was Dan’s favorite blog recipe ever, then this is definitely his favorite cocktail I’ve ever made. Admittedly, he tends to like all my boozy concoctions, but I’ve never seen him get quite so ecstatic about any of my other drink recipes.
I’m honestly a little embarrassed to tell you how many of these we had this past weekend. (FYI: it was a lot). In our defense though, we got snowed in on Saturday and lost power for 8 hours, so there wasn’t much to do but cuddle under layers of blankets with drinks and snacks and then fall asleep in a warm, bourbon-induced haze.
It was actually a lot of fun, now that I think about it. Almost makes me wish we got snow storms/power outages more often!
Anyway, when I asked Dan why he was so wild about these Apple Pie Bourbon Cocktails, he said: “I don’t know…but I think it’s because it tastes like my favorite dessert in a glass.” Which is actually a remarkably good description of what this drink reminded me of.
For once, the name of my recipe isn’t just a general descriptor based on the ingredients I used…these things really do taste and smell like apple pie in liquid form.
It’s kind of freaky. But it’s also super delicious. And that is why Dan and I drank an obscene number of them this weekend.
You guys are definitely going to want to give this recipe a try, trust me. So hurry up and go infuse yourself some apple pie-flavored bourbon (it only takes a few days!), and then have at it! Drink responsibly, my friends 😉

- Place a large cube or sphere of ice into two glasses. Set aside.
- In a shaker, combine bourbon, clover honey, and lemon juice.
- Shake vigorously, then carefully pour an equal amount of the liquid into your two glasses.
- Pour just a splash of tonic water (maybe ½oz to 1oz?) into each glass.
- Garnish each drink with a lemon peel.
- Enjoy, immediately!
